Brazil - Belarus Betting Preview: Tournament favourites set for Sunday stroll
The Selecao opened their campaign with victory over Egypt and Willie Duncan expects Santos star Neymar to inspire them to yet another win against Georgy Kondratyev's men
Brazil opened their campaign at London 2012 with a 3-2 victory over Egypt on Thursday night and they are hot favourites with bookmaker William Hill to make it two wins from two when they take on Belarus in Group C of the men’s Olympic football competition on Sunday. The South Americans are chalked up at 1/6 (1.17) with Bet365 to see off the challenge posed by a Belarus side who also got their campaign off to the best possible start by edging out New Zealand in their opening fixture.
Georgy Kondratyev's men will have been delighted with their victory over Neil Emblen’s team but know that they face a huge challenge this weekend and they are rated as an 15/1 (16.0) shot with Bet365 to stun the Selecao here. The same firm offer 7/1 (8.00) that the match ends all square.Brazil were 3-0 up and cruising against Egypt on Thursday but were required to survive a second-half fightback by the Egyptians and were also impressive in a 2-0 victory over Great Britain in a pre-tournament friendly so they will, rightly, be full of confidence ahead of this clash.
Star striker Neymar was on target against Egypt on Thursday and he can be backed at an industry best 3/1 (4.00) to score first at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon. Leandro Damiao also opened his account for the tournament and he can be backed at 9/2 (5.5) to break the deadlock here.
Dmitry Baga was the goal hero for Belarus in their win over New Zealand after he pounced on a goalkeeping blunder by Michael O’Keefe and the midfielder can be backed at a chunky 28/1 (29.0) to open the scoring against Belarus’ illustrious opponents this weekend. The biggest threat to Brazil’s chances of victory is former Blackpool loanee Sergei Kornilenko. He looked lively against New Zealand and he can be backed at 16/1 (17.0) with Bet365 to score first.
Brazil, though, are far superior to their Eastern European opponents and, with all eyes likely to be on Neymar, the Santos star should be backed at 3/1 (4.00) to strike gold against Belarus on Sunday.

Neymar to score first at 3/1 (4.00) with Bet365
