Switzerland midfielder Granit Xhaka says his team are "better" than Wednesday's opponents Honduras and said their meeting will be like a World Cup final.
Heading into their final group game, the European side are level on points with Ecuador, who play group leaders France on Wednesday. If Ottmar Hitzfeld's team avoid defeat against Honduras and les Bleus beat the la Tri, Switzerland will progress into the knockout round.
And Xhaka insists his team are of a higher standard to that of Luis Fernando Suarez's and will prove it when they meet in the crucial fixture.
"We have a better team and more quality than Honduras," he told Fifa's official website. "And I think we deserve to go through to the round of 16. We're utterly determined to make it, and we'll show it against Honduras.
"It's like a World Cup final. We have to fight and run for each other. We have to beat Honduras, and that's all there is to say."
The Borussia Monchengladbach player said the team have been reviewing the video of their 5-2 demolition at the hands of France, which he feels will come in handy for their next game.
"The video analysis was absolutely vital. All of the bad things were clear to see. There were actually a few positives as well."
