The basketball ace has given his opinion on who will win this summer’s tournament, while also admitting that he prefers football to any other sport
Basketball player Kobe Bryant says he hopes Brazil and Argentina reach the final of this summer's World Cup.
The five-time NBA champion, who has also tipped Germany to go far in the tournament, has admitted that football is his favourite sport and has travelled to Brazil after opting to watch the World Cup instead of the NBA Finals.
While he is delighted to see all the best teams in action, he believes Brazil will be hard to beat in this summer’s competition because of home advantage and Germany will also do well.
"It's not easy to face Brazil in their own country,” the 35-year-old is quoted as saying by AS. “I'd like to see a final with both Brazil and Argentina in it.
“Germany also seem very strong this year and a really hard opponent to beat.
"From the age of six to fourteen I played football. It's my favourite sport and I do not want to miss these great games, which is why I am here, in Brazil.
“I want to see the best teams and the best players here at the World Cup.”
