The Boys in Green were ruthlessly outclassed by Joachim Low's side at the Aviva Stadium on Friday as they suffered their heaviest-ever home defeat.
However, Trapattoni has insisted his squad still respect his methods and refused to reference calls for his sacking.
"We give them jobs and we have a system to get goals, and the players believe in this,” he told BBC Sport. "The team tries to do what we ask and they are also happy to do it.
"I told them that when you lose, conceding on goal or six goals or three goals, it's the same, it's three points gone, it only changes the psychological situation.

| 25/1 | Republic of Ireland are 25/1 to beat the Faroe Islands 5-0 with Paddy Power |
The 73-year-old preferred to focus on his side's next game, calling for his squad to bounce back in style against the Faroe Islands on Tuesday.
"We have to re-charge the batteries and focus on the next match in the Faroes on Tuesday," he added.
"We can accept defeat against Germany. Realistically, we were never going to compete against Germany for first place in the group.
"Our target is not Germany, our target is Sweden and Austria, and in the next game, the Faroes.
"We have to win and we will look to win."
Meanwhile, Trapattoni is sweating over the fitness of striker Robbie Keane for the crunch qualifier.
Keane missed Friday's embarrassing defeat after sustaining an Achilles injury in training and the former Liverpool striker is now a doubt for the Boys in Green's next World Cup qualifier against the Group C minnows on Tuesday.
"After tomorrow we can decide," Trapattoni told the Score, referring to a fitness test Keane will undergo on October 13.
Despite doubts over Keane, the Italian announced that he has an otherwise full-strength squad to pick from.

"Great game! Borussia clearly is clearly dominating the match and, of course, the stands. But it's a shame that the score is still 0-0. But it's good to see our team standing up to Bayern again, especially in midfield. The tension is immense, though!"
"I would say it was an even battle between both sets of supporters outside Wembley but Dortmund are definitely edging it in the pub I'm in. The streets of central London are quieter than usual and every bar I walked past is spilling out onto the road. London is at a standstill.
