The former Flamengo and Deportivo La Coruna striker completes the organising committee amidst reports that CBF could lose its top officialFormer Brazil international Bebeto has joined the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the 2014 World Cup.
The 48-year-old is the third and last member of the committee, which is also composed of former Brazil striker Ronaldo and Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) president Ricardo Teixeira.
"I want to wish Bebeto a lot of luck and I am sure he will give an immense contribution," Ronaldo said.
"He is a big idol, a great friend and he will continue the work we are doing in the committee.
"We are two former strikers and we can do great work together."
The news comes as a much-needed boost to Brazil's World Cup preparations, as reports in the country suggest that Teixeira will resign from his post in the CBF.
Bebeto, who represents the Democratic Labour Party in Rio de Janeiro's Legislative Assembly, won the 1994 World Cup with the Selecao.
