GOAL OF THE WEEK |
Claudio Marchisio ran away with last week's Goal of the Week, collecting 80 per cent of the vote to win following his strike in Juventus' 4-0 demolition of Roma.
The Italian midfielder strolled onto Mirko Vucinic's deft backheel to caress a beautiful side-footed finish in off the far post from the edge of the area.
And the Montenegrin himself features in this week's shortlist, as we select our five favourite goals featured in the Goal Show and ask you to pick your favourite.
|
1
|
Mirko Vucinic |
Novara vs Juventus |
The Italians are keeping up their charge to the Serie A title, and remain unbeaten in the league this season. Their 4-0 victory over Novara was crucial with Milan also victorious, and Vucinic's strike was the pick of the bunch.
|
2
|
Antonio Nocerino |
Sienna vs Milan |
Like Juve, Milan also hit four on the road, recording a 4-1 victory in Siena. Nocerino has been a revelation this season, and his mazy run and tidy finish was the highlight of the game.
|
3
|
Daniel Luduena |
Santos Laguna vs Monterrey |
Merely a consolation strike for Santos Laguna, who were competiting in their first ever Concacaf Champions League final. Luduena found the top corner to give his side hope of a comeback, but Monterrey held on to retain their trophy.
|
4
|
Eric Avila |
Real Salt Lake vs Toronto |
Following on in similar fashion, Avila's wonderful strike was not enough for Toronto as they were defeated 3-2 by Salt Lake.
|
5
|
Neymar |
Sao Paulo vs Santos |
The Brazilian scored a hat-trick as Santos recorded a 3-1 victory away to Sao Paulo in the Paulista semi-finals, and his second strike completes our selection.
