The Japanese winger opened the scoring for the Trotters at The Den and caused the Lions' defence a host of problems throughout his performance

Bolton manager Owen Coyle praised his new loan-signing Ryo Miyaichi for his impressive contribution to the Trotters' 2-0 win over Millwall on Saturday.

Miyaichi, signed from Arsenal until the end of the season, showcased his credentials by opening the scoring after two minutes and looked impressive all afternoon.

“He has more than just one strength. He has many attributes. He has pace, he has two great feet. He has football intelligence for such a young man and he's driven to be the best he can be,” Coyle told reporters after the game.

“He has a great temperament and I could be here all day waxing lyrical about him.

“I'm not doing that on the back of a good performance today, I've said that since he came to the club.

This is the third consecutive season that Bolton have taken advantage of the loan system, benefiting in the past by offering a platform to players from Arsenal and Chelsea.

Coyle said: “Ultimately I've always said I think there are terrific young players out there and a lot of them are at the elite clubs.

“And there's no shame in not being in their starting eleven.

“But we've had a bit of success with Jack Wilshere and Daniel Sturridge and Ryo can too, given the platform of what we can do at Bolton Wanderers.

“For me it's always a win-win-win situation.

“We get a very good player – so it's a win for us. Arsenal get a terrific player back – so it's a win for them.

“And the player himself then knows he can handle that level. I just think it helps all parties.

“We've shown that if they're good enough, regardless of age, we're prepared to play them.”

Miyaichi's goal displayed glimpses of the talent that has borne so much hype since his move to Arsenal and Coyle continued to lavish praise.

“It didn't surprise me because of what I've seen," he added.

“The most important thing about his goal, was his first touch, because that allowed the finish.

“You've seen many players that wouldn't have had as composed a touch because the ball's coming at pace over the head of the full-back.

“He's got such a great touch of the ball, he's got lovely feet and the touch made the goal because then it allowed him to face the goalkeeper one versus one.

“The finish as well – there's no doubt about it – it's a composed finish, it's in the corner.

“Obviously I worked with him a bit in the week on his finishing, so I'm happy with that.”
