Cliftonville's Liam Boyce has completed a move to Werder Bremen on a two-year contract.

The 19-year-old was expected to sign for Bundesliga 2 side SpVgg Greuther Furth last week, until the move fell through.

Now the striker will join Bremen's under-23 side and he stated that he was delighted with the move.

"This is a dream for me - I always wanted to play at a big club in Europe," Boyce told BBC Sport.

Boyce agreed terms on the deal on Tuesday after undergoing a medical on Monday, with Cliftonville chairman Gerard Lawlor wishing him well with the move.

"Disappointed as we are to lose a player of Liam's calibre, we are delighted that he has been able to realise his dream of full-time football," Lawlor said.

"We are pleased, too, that the terms of the transfer are good for Cliftonville FC and naturally wish Liam the very best of luck in his future career."

Boyce has been linked with a move throughout the summer, having been linked with moves to England and Spain, as well as undergoing a trial at SPL side Celtic after he impressed with 19 goals in his debut season with Cliftonville last term.
