Mandanda: Marseille must be humble after last season's disappointment

The France custodian admits his side underperformed last term but nonetheless feels they can regroup under new boss Elie Baup and enjoy a successful campaign this time around

L'OM finished a disappointing 10th place in Ligue 1 last term, although they did win the Coupe de France, but it resulted in coach Didier Deschamps leaving to take the France job following Laurent Blanc's post-Euro 2012 departure.
However, a replacement has been appointed in the form of ex-Bordeaux and Toulouse boss Elie Baup, and Mandanda, who travelled to Poland and Ukraine with Les Bleus this summer, hopes the side can improve on last year's performance.
"Yes it's true, the last league season was tough but today we still have the same team and even if we only finished 10th, we are a good side and we underperformed," he told reporters.
"We have to be a little bit humble because of last year, but as the coach said if we all work together and have a good mindset, I'm convinced we can have a good season."
Marseille kick the new season off against Reims on August 10, but face Evian and Saint-Etienne in pre-season friendlies.
