thumbnail Hello,

Messi became a La Liga centurion last weekend. This is a recap of how he did it.

Next Monday night much of planet football will come to a standstill as the goliaths of Spain - Barcelona and Real Madrid - come face to face in the first El Clasico of the season.

Headline grabbers have already begun whittling the match down to the showdown between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Last weekend the two most gifted footballers in the world showed their class as they both netted hat-tricks to swell their incredible stats further. So far this campaign Messi has a scintillating 22 goals from 17 games in all competitions, while Ronaldo is only a fraction off the pace with 16 goals from 18 outings.

Messi's hat-trick last weekend also brought up another milestone for  'The Flea'. The Barca magician broke through the one hundred goals barrier in La Liga to lift little Leo onto 101 career goals in the Spanish top flight.

With the number so close to our hearts, we invite to a walk down memory lane to enjoy all of those 101 great Messi goals.

The goals can be seen in three parts.
