Coca-Cola Memorable Celebrations 46: Matthaus Take A Tumble

The German captain did many things right in Italia '90. His celebration against Yugoslavia however wasn't one of them..., in association with Coca-Cola, are counting down the Top 50 most memorable World Cup celebrations of all time. Lothar Matthaus gave a man of the match performance at his then home ground of the San Siro back in Italia '90 with two goals and a tumble thrown in for good measure.

In arguably his greatest ever performance for Die Mannschaft, Matthaus ran the show against a quality Yugoslavia side. Picking the ball up inside his own half, he went on a long run and unleashed a perfect angled drive to score his second of the match. His celebration wasn't quite of the same standard as he fell on his backside and took a clumsy tumble while Jurgen Klinsmann, perhaps predictably, took a dive and joined in.
