LA Galaxy will be seeking to maintain their fine form when they travel to face Portland Timbers in MLS this weekend.
Galaxy are unbeaten in seven matches and they will come into this clash brimming with belief after claiming an impressive 4-2 win against Seattle Sounders in the US Open Cup on Wednesday night.
Bruce Arena's side will have fond memories of their most recent trip to Providence Park, for Galaxy claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory when these two teams met in the US Open Cup at the end of last month - the only defeat that Portland have suffered on home turf in their last seven matches in all competitions.
Despite recent results, Galaxy - who are Betway's 4/1 (5.0) favourites to be crowned as MLS champions this term - can be backed at a chunky 2/1 (3.0) to pick up all three points this weekend, while the same firm go 12/5 (3.40) the match ends all square.
Portland have won just one of their last five fixtures, but will have been buoyed by a 3-1 success against Seattle Sounders last time out and Caleb Porter's charges are chalked up as a 5/4 (2.25) chance to claim back-to-back league victories.
Those expecting a glut of goals from this fixture, however, could well be left disappointed, for there have been just seven goals in Portland's last five games, while there have been fewer than three goals scored inside 90 minutes in all but one of Galaxy's last 10 matches.
That selection would have paid dividends in four of the visitors' last five outings as well as in three of Portland's last five fixtures.
Just three points separate the two teams in the Western Conference, but Galaxy have two games in hand and Arena's men can take another significant step towards securing their place in the Final Series with a vital victory at Providence Park.
The visitors have won each of their last five fixtures and Betway's 2/1 (3.0) quote for Galaxy to make it six successive victories represents outstanding value for punters ahead of Saturday's showdown.
