The Reds will be looking to bounce back after defeat to Manchester United in the United States, while Dortmund are looking to stay unbeaten in their pre-season campaign.
Jurgen Klopp’s side face Bayern Munich in the Super Cup next Wednesday, where they will come up against former striker Robert Lewandowski.
The Polish striker has so far starred for Munich in pre-season, but Klopp will be keen for his new additions to be set when they face off next week.
The Germans have brought in the likes of Nuri Sahin, Adrian Ramos and former Torino striker Ciro Immobile. The Italian striker, who’s netted twice in pre-season, will spearhead their attack next season. William Hill price them at 3/1 (4.00) to beat Liverpool.
The Reds will be disappointed after a strong pre-season tour of America came to an end with defeat to rivals Manchester United in the International Champions Cup final.
Prior to that result, Liverpool had seen off Olympiakos, Manchester City on penalties and AC Milan in the ICC to reach the final. William Hill price them at 10/11 (1.91) to get back to winning ways, with the same firm pricing the draw at 12/5 (3.40).
Despite reaching the final, Manchester United outplayed Liverpool to win 3-1. With other defeats to Brondby and Roma in pre-season so far, there is still a lot of work for Liverpool to do before their campaign kicks off against Southampton next Saturday.
Dortmund have been scoring for fun this summer and will come to Anfield with no fear having won five of their six friendlies. With Klopp building another exciting, attacking side, the price of Dortmund at 3/1 (2.35) is appealing with William Hill and certainly worth a small investment.
