Betting Special: Chelsea and Monaco the frontrunners to sign Antoine Griezmann

With Jose Mourinho looking to add more firepower to his Chelsea attack, Real Sociedad's talented Frenchman could be the next addition according to the bookmakers
Having added Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa to an attack that lagged 30 goals behind the top two in last season’s Premier League, Chelsea are reportedly keen on bringing in Antoine Griezmann to further enhance their firepower.

The France international is hot property thanks to a promising display at the World Cup and now looks set to leave Real Sociedad this summer after rejecting a new contract offer.

That news has allegedly encouraged Jose Mourinho to meet the 23-year-old’s €31.5 million [£25m] buyout clause, prompting Paddy Power to slash the odds to just 4/9 (1.44) on him moving to Stamford Bridge.

However, with James Rodriguez seemingly on his way to Real Madrid, Monaco are available at 3/1 (4.00) to steal a march on the Blues by bringing Griezmann back to France as a ready-made replacement.

Arsenal have long been linked with a move for the Frenchman, although Alexis Sanchez’s arrival makes another attacker less of a priority, hence the 10/1 (11.00) odds on him turning up at the Emirates.

Left with a creative void in attack and €95m [£75m] burning a hole in their pockets, Liverpool are on offer at 10/1 (11.00) to add Griezmann to Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Lazar Markovic in their new-look frontline.

Elsewhere, Tottenham and Manchester United are also priced at 10/1 (11.00) to offer the winger an alternative route to the Premier League, while Paris Saint-Germain can be backed at 10/1 (11.00) to lure him to the Parc des Princes.

After finishing a disappointing eighth in Serie A, AC Milan seem unlikely to win the race for one of Europe’s most in-demand prospects, meaning odds of 12/1 (13.00) are probably worth avoiding.

While Real Madrid and Barcelona are currently occupied elsewhere in the transfer market, they are available at 16/1 (17.00) and 20/1 (21.00) to keep the 16-goal man in La Liga for the foreseeable future.
