thumbnail Hello,

Having seen the goals dry up over the past few weeks, Al Hain-Cole expects Jay Heaps' men to fall to a sixth consecutive MLS defeat when they take on the league's best defence

New England Revolution will be hoping to put an end to a five-game league losing streak when they travel to the StubHub Center to take on LA Galaxy on Thursday morning.

That run has seen the early season leaders fall off the pace in the Eastern Conference, but they are available at 9/2 (5.50) with bet365 to snap out of it with their first victory since late May.

In contrast, the hosts are unbeaten in seven matches in the MLS and are 8/13 (1.62) favourites to move into the play-off places by coming out on top here.

Los Galacticos have drawn three of their last five league matches, and you can get odds of 14/5 (3.80) on them being held to another stalemate tonight.

The Revs’ surprising downturn in form can largely be attributed to a lack of firepower, having scored just twice in their last five league fixtures.

Last season’s top scorer Diego Fagundez has struggled to have a similar impact this campaign, with the 19-year-old stuck on just three goals after failing to find the net since his winner against DC United in the team’s last victory back in May.

With their main threat not firing, it is difficult to see where the goals will come from when they take on a backline that have conceded just 13 times in 15 fixtures so far - the best record in the MLS.

Having also lost fewer matches than anyone else in the league, Bruce Arena’s side will take to the field confident of recording a victory that could possibly see them shoot up to third place in the table, as they continue to play catch-up with their four games in hand.

Considering they have kept two clean sheets in their last three league games, odds of 7/4 (2.75) are well worth backing on the in-form Galaxy beating their out-of-sorts guests to nil this evening.
