After a handful of pre-season friendlies, Ronny Deila has his first competitive chance to impress the Celtic faithful as they face a side who haven’t won any of their last seven qualifying matches in the Champions League.
The Bhoys have had a mixed pre-season so far, drawing to Rapid Wien and Dukla Praha, with a 5-2 victory against LASK Linz sandwiched in between. William Hill price them at 2/5 (1.40) to win this first leg and put them in the driving seat for the return fixture.
KR are currently in the middle of their Urvalsdeild season, sitting in third position, six points behind FH. Runar Kristinsson's men have won five of their last six matches, but the standard of opposition has been hugely different to what they will face against Celtic.
With their last victory coming against Vllanznia Shkoder in 2001 in the Champions League, it's no surprise that William Hill price them at 6/1 (7.00) to win, despite them being halfway through their season and match fit. The same firm price the draw at 16/5 (4.20).
With Scott Brown's injury in pre-season rocking Deila and the Celtic squad, the Norwegian manager will hope for a positive start to their campaign and has already come out to say he will play an attacking line-up to score goals.
With this in mind, it’s likely that Teemu Pukki, Celtic's Finnish striker, will play after impressing this pre-season. The former Schalke man didn't have a fantastic season last year, but with four goals in his two friendly outings so far, the future is looking brighter. William Hill price him at 6/5 (2.20) to net in the 90 minutes which seems like a fantastic price as Celtic will look to kill off the tie in the first leg.
