Nigeria-Argentina Betting Preview: Sabella's men too strong for Super Eagles

Group F concludes this week with the top two battling it out in Porto Alegre, with our tipster backing the South American side to win to nil and secure top spot in the group
Argentina and Nigeria face off this week, in a winner takes all match for the top spot of Group F.

Lionel Messi has been the star for Argentina so far in the competition, despite the Albiceleste not yet finding top gear.

Their opponents in the final group match, Nigeria, overcame a slow start against Iran to beat Bosnia in a scrappy 1-0 win and now have four points in the group.

Argentina will be relieved to be sitting on six points after two matches, with Alejandro Sabella's men not living up to their pre-tournament hype.

Messi has been the star for the South Americans so far, netting a fantastic goal in their first match against Bosnia-Herzegovina as they scraped through 2-1, before a last minute winner saw them get past an inspired Iran side 1-0. bet365 price them at 4/7 (1.57) to make it three wins from three.

Nigeria created little in their first group match against Iran, as the Super Eagles were frustrated in Curitiba, with the result finishing goalless. Stephen Keshi's men reacted in a positive manner against Bosnia-Herzegovina though, battling to win 1-0 thanks to a Peter Odemwingie goal.

That result has put them behind Argentina in Group F, with a point good enough for them to secure their passage through to the next round. bet365 price them at 7/1 (8.00) to cause a shock and win, with the same firm pricing the draw at 14/5 (3.80).

With Nigeria struggling to find the net, it's worth looking at the markets opposing goals in this fixture. Under 2.5 goals at 9/10 (1.90) and both teams not to score at 5/6 (1.83) are both tempting with bet365, but it's worth looking elsewhere for a better bet.

Argentina have looked solid in defence so far this tournament, conceding the one goal to Bosnia-Herzegovina.

A win for Sabella's side to nil at 6/4 (2.50) looks like a fantastic price with bet365. Nigeria have failed to score in four of their last eight matches, and with Argentina only conceding one goal in seven matches, they will be more than confident of sealing maximum points with ease and a clean sheet.

Should the match finish 0-0 bet365 will refund losing bets on first/last and anytime goalscorer markets as well as half time/full time, correct score and scorecast wagers.
