In the 15 games that Pep was in charge of Barcelona in a Clasico he won nine, drew four, and lost just two.
Bayern then, will head to Bernabeu lead by a man who knows what it takes to defeat Real Madrid, yet the Madrid that they will encounter on Wednesday evening is somewhat different to the one which Guardiola so consistently got the better of during his time in Spain.
Carlo Ancelotti has changed the system to a more fluid 4-3-3 which has brought about a more balanced midfield. This was patently clear to see in last weekend's Copa del Rey final, where Barcelona dominated possession, but Madrid denied them space, creating by far the more chances on goal and ending up worthy winners.
Bayern will similarly look to control possession, yet the La Liga giants have the personnel to restrict them and punish on the counter attack, again much like they did last week against Barca.
Cristiano Ronaldo will almost certainly return to the starting line up having been rested against the Catalans and the leading scorer in this edition of the Champions League is priced at 9/10 (1.90) to add to his tally of 14 goals. That is a price that looks almost impossible to resist.
Ronaldo is the most potent scoring threat on the pitch, with blistering power and pace, as well as a deadly free kick, precision from the penalty spot and an unmatched potency in the air.
This price for him to net at anytime at home, regardless of the opponents is enormous. When you take into account that Bayern are likely to leave some gaps for Cristiano to exploit it becomes unmissable.
There are of course others in the goalscorers market worthy of consideration. Arjen Robben is available at 7/4 (2.75) to net against his old club and with 19 goals in all competitions the Dutchman is flying.
Gareth Bale meanwhile can be backed at 15/8 (2.88) to follow up his stunning Copa del Rey winner with another goal at the Bernabeu. But when cold, hard logic dictates, backing Cristiano Ronaldo to score is the only bet that really makes sense.
