Malaga - Espanyol Betting Preview: Why a home win looks on the cards tonight

Our man in Spain Phil Kitromilides believes Malaga's recent resurgence will continue this evening with another victory
Two wins in their last three legaue encounters have lifted Malaga five points clear of the relegation zone and they can take a further definitive take towards survival when they host Espanyol. The side from Barcelona are lingering in the limbo of midtable and with nine games to go know that neither Europe nor relegation looks likely.

We are getting to the point in the season in Spain where motivation is a key factor in matches and while Malaga have plenty, their Catalan opponents have little. Bet365 price a home win at 11/8 (2.37) while Espanyol are available at 21/10 (3.10) and the draw offered at the same price.
Yet Malaga have done well in recent weeks suffering just one defeat in their last five games and that was against Real Madrid.

The weekend saw them record an impressive 2-0 victory at Celta Vigo, and Bernd Schuster´s men are finally beginning to show some spirit which was badly lacking earlier in the campaign.

Espanyol have been treading water for a while and do not expect that to change this evening.

Furthermore Malaga have a an excellent record home record against los Pericos, winning four of their last five
meetings at La Rosaleda, further underlining our selection for a home win tonight at the industry best price of 6/4 (2.50).
