Neither David Moyes nor Manuel Pellegrini can call on their first choice strikers for Tuesday's derby, but Al Hain-Cole expects their two in-form stars to fill that voidWith Robin van Persie and Sergio Aguero absent through injury, Tuesday’s Manchester derby provides the supporting casts of both teams to take the lead in attack.
|Odds from bet365
|Negredo to score anytime||7/5|
|Rooney to score anytime||8/5|
|Welbeck to score anytime||15/8|
|Toure to score anytime||12/5|
|Nasri to score anytime||3/1|
|Negredo to score first||5/1|
Edin Dzeko recently ended a similar nine-game barren spell with a late goal against Hull, but having not featured at all against Fulham is probably best avoided at 13/2 (7.50) to strike first, or 15/8 (2.88) to fire anytime.
Unlike his attacking team-mates, Yaya Toure will be brimming with belief after grabbing a hat-trick on Saturday that saw him overtake Aguero as the club’s leading Premier League goalscorer, and offers the best value at inviting 12/5 (3.40) odds to add to his tally of 16 with a fourth career goal against United, particularly given his expertise from the penalty spot.
Likewise, Wayne Rooney will be full of confidence after finding the net from the halfway line in his first of two goals against West Ham at the weekend, taking his record to four in the last four Premier League games.
The England international seems to relish playing as the focal point of an attack supported by the likes of Juan Mata 3/1 (4.00) and Shinji Kagawa 9/2 (5.50), and is not to be missed at 8/5 (2.60) to hit his sixth goal in six games against Manchester City, or 11/2 (6.50) to break the deadlock.
Should Rooney fail to shine then it is difficult to see where the goals will come from for David Moyes’ men, although Danny Welbeck’s lively display at Upton Park suggests odds of 15/8 (2.88) could be worth a tipple on him finding an eighth in 11 league games.
In contrast, Manuel Pellegrini boasts a embarrassment of attacking riches, with David Silva 10/3 (4.33), Samir Nasri 3/1 (4.00) and Jesus Navas 15/4 (4.75) all capable of chipping in with a goal on a day that should see the visitors continue their prolific record in big games this season.
