Barcelona-Manchester City Betting Preview: Back the visitors to open the scoring

Our man in Spain, Phil Kitromilides, can see the English side scoring first against an unconvincing Blaugrana backline
It is not quite 'Mission: Impossible' for Manchester City at the Camp Nou this evening - but it's certainly a tough one.

Barcelona do not lose many matches at home and given their 2-0 lead from the first leg, it will require quite some performance from Manuel Pellegrini's side - coupled with a something of a capitulation from the Blaugrana - for the Premier League outfit to progress.

Yet Saturday's league defeat at Valladolid saw Barcelona put in one of their most insipid displays for quite some time and if they play like that against City they will lose.

bet365 price a victory for Tata Martino's men at 4/7 (1.57). A draw which would see the Catalan giants through to the next round is at 15/4 (4.75). Meanwhile, City can be backed at 19/4 (5.75) to bounce back from their own weekend disappointment with a win.

Indeed, Pellegrini will be hoping the FA Cup exit at the hands of Wigan will galvanise the Citizens to produce an improved showing, and the Chilean boss knows his side must attack.

With City needing goals and Barca's defence looking as vulnerable as it has done in the last five years, perhaps a wise move could be backing the visitors to open the scoring at 9/4 (3.25).

Barca have conceded the first goal in two of their last three games, while this bet has paid out six times in the Blaugrana's matches since the turn of the year.

Sergio Aguero will be back for the Manchester outfit with the Argentine netting four times against Barcelona in his career to date, while former Barca man Yaya Toure is also is decent scoring form.

City have plenty of players who can get on the scoresheet and with the Catalans looking shakey defensively this could be a shrewd selection for a small investment.
