La Liga Goalscorers Betting Special: Why Jese can open the scoring for Real Madrid again

With the Spaniard in fine scoring form, backing him to grab a goal first for los Blancos against Elche could be the best bet of the weekend
This week's La Liga fixtures throw up plenty of opportunities for investment in the goalscorers market with some interesting prices. Barcelona travel to Real Sociedad on Saturday and, after his midweek goal against Manchester City, Lionel Messi is offered at 4/9 (1.44) to get on the scoresheet at any time with bet365 and can also be backed at 9/4 (3.25) to open the scoring.

Atletico Madrid, meanwhile, have a tough looking trip to Osasuna and top scorer Diego Costa can be backed to break the deadlock at 12/5 (3.40) - something he has done on six occasions so far this season in La Liga.

Perhaps the best bet, however, is at the Santiago Bernabeu, where Real Madrid host struggling Elche and goals look extremely likely.

As Cristiano Ronaldo serves the third game of a three-match ban, Jese Rodriguez is once again almost guaranteed a spot in the starting line-up and the man from Gran Canaria has not disappointed when given a starting berth.

Netting eight goals already this season, Jese can be backed at 4/6 (1.65) to score at any time, while the price of 15/4 (4.75) for him to score first looks generous. Real Madrid's No.20 has opened the scoring in three of their last six games and, without Ronaldo, his direct style will be crucial to Madrid's game.

Elche have been shipping goals at an alarming rate on the road in recent weeks and their defence will be lacking in confidence, something that Jese is not.

Given the nature of the opponents, plus the vital role he will have to play in the game (not to mention his exceptional recent form), backing Jese to open the scoring looks to offer some decent value.
