Celta Vigo-Athletic Bilbao Betting Preview: Why at least three goals look likely

With both sides in excellent scoring form, our man in Spain Phil Kitromilides is backing a high-scoring encounter on Monday night
Celta Vigo's 2-1 triumph at Granada this weekend made it back-to-back wins for the Galicians for the first time this season, and with three victories from their last four fixtures, Celta seem to be enjoying somewhat of a mini-revival.

The relative success of the last few weeks, however, cannot disguise the fact that for a large part of the season Luis Garcia's men have been disappointing and that another three points are absolutely imperative to move further away from the relegation zone.

Conversely, Athletic are in fine form with eight wins from their last 11 games fostering a growing belief that fourth spot in the table is theirs to lose. William Hill offer a home win this evening at 9/2 (5.50), while Athletic can be backed at 16/5 (4.20). The draw is available at 21/10 (3.10).

With both sides boasting some exciting forward players, both teams to score is offered at just 13/20 (1.65), which may tempt some punters but is just too short for us to consider.

Instead consider investing in over 2.5 goals to be scored at 4/5 (1.80), which looks an excellent option.

This bet comfortably paid out when the two sides met earlier in the season and has proved the correct selection in seven of Celta's last nine league games.

Furthermore, it has paid out in three of Athletic's last four matches, and with the games involving the Basques averaging 3.18 goals so far this La Liga season, this should offer some extremely solid potential returns.
