The Baggies have taken their time in finding the right man to replace Steve Clarke at the Hawthorns and Al Hain-Cole thinks the former Cardiff manager may be the perfect fitHaving parted company with Steve Clarke almost one month ago, West Brom are certainly taking their time in their search for a new manager.
Sporting and technical director Richard Garlick recently claimed the club are looking for a boss who can work within the current framework at the Hawthorns, and the net seems to have been cast wide as they identify the perfect candidate.

However, compatriot Pepe Mel was previously tipped to take command of the Baggies before falling out of favour and dropping down to 18/1 (19.00) in the betting, meaning little can be taken for granted just yet.
Indeed, Malky Mackay’s availability may well force the board to reconsider, as the Scot’s impressive reputation in English football makes him a strong candidate at 4/1 (5.00) after finally falling foul of Cardiff owner Vincent Tan. But there may be issues in organising a compensation package from the Welsh club after he was dismissed. If that package can be agreed quickly though, then Mackay could be a very attractive option for the Baggies.
Mirko Slomka has also recently emerged on the open market after being sacked by Hannover 96 just after Christmas, and the German could represent a tempting option at 11/2 (6.50) after previously leading the modest Bundesliga outfit into successive Europa League campaigns.
Although his odds have dropped from around 100/1 to 8/1 (9.00) in recent days, Reading manager Nigel Adkins is thought to have little chance of landing the job.
Despite leading the club to three draws and one victory in his four league games in charge, caretaker boss Keith Downing is adamant he does not want the role on a full-time basis, hence the 12/1 (13.00) price available on him taking over.
Having two seasons at West Brom as a player, Martin Jol is on offer at 16/1 (17.00) to return to the dugout, although his reputation has suffered after an ultimately disappointing spell at Fulham.
