thumbnail Hello,

Our man in the capital city thinks los Blancos should have relatively few problems in overcoming the struggling hosts

Real Madrid end 2013 with, in theory, one of the toughest away trips in the calendar, as they travel to Valencia on Sunday evening.

In practice, however, los Blancos have fond memories of their recent visits to Mestalla, where they are unbeaten in their last five games during which time they have scored 18 goals.

Furthermore, Valencia are in disarray having endured a torrid opening half of the season which saw them part company with coach Mirsolav Dukic on Monday.

All this means that Madrid are relatively short priced favorites at 3/5 (1.60) with Betway to record their 13th league win of the season, while Valencia are offered at 4/1 (5.00).

As mentioned los Che have been in poor form, recording just two wins in nine league matches and heading into the final weekend of the season in what is for them an unacceptable ninth place in the table.

Last weekend's 3-0 defeat at Atletico Madrid saw them play some nice stuff without ever threatening in the final third.

They badly lack a killer instinct in front of goal and that should hurt them against Madrid.

Backing Carlo Ancelotti's team to win with a -1 handicap at 29/20 (2.45) looks to be a decent selection given Valencia's troubles in front of the goal and the ease with which Madrid have been scoring.

This bet has paid out in six of Madrid's last eight matches in all competitions as well as in two of the last three meetings between the two sides.
