thumbnail Hello,

JD reveals which two teams he thinks offer the best value for Brazil 2014 and who he is backing in this weekend's biggest Premeir League match at the Etihad Stadium

Juventus were dumped out of the Champions League in midweek as they slumped to defeat in snow-covered Istanbul against Galatasary.

My main outright selection for the tournament, Borussia Dortmund, eventually came out top of their group despite massive injury problems.

They are a best price of 14/1 (15.0) to lift the trophy in May. My outside selection of Atletico Madrid also topped their group, too, and are in rude health. They have shortened to an 18/1 (19.0) shot with some layers and will be tough to beat no matter who they are drawn against in the knockout stages.
World Cup draw

The World Cup draw took place last Friday and there are some interesting groups. The draw has been favourable to two heavyily-fancied sides in Brazil and Argentina.

The Selecao are 10/3 (4.30) favourites to win the World Cup on home soil but the Albiceleste may provide a better alternative.

They are 5/1 (6.0) to win the competition outright and, with Iran, Nigeria and Bosnia in their group, they will be expected to coast through the early stages.

They are laden with talent and can beat any other nation on their day. Italy also catch the eye at a whopping 28/1 (29.0) with bet365 and, as tournament specialists, represent good value at this point in time.

We can form more definitive views nearer the tournament but these two teams stand out at this stage.

This weekend's tips

Looking ahead to the weekend, Manchester City have an imperious home record and they entertain Arsenal on Saturday.

It is one of the most eagerly-awaited matches in Europe and a home win is 5/6 (1.83) with bet365.

Manuel Pellegrini rested a number of players in midweek in preparation for this match, while Arsenal had a tough match in Naples with a full-strength line-up.

Manchester City have been free-scoring at home and are difficult to subdue at the Etihad. At 5/6 (1.83) with bet365, they look a good bet for Saturday's encounter.

Borussia Dortmund's injury problems have been well documented and they look worth taking on when they travel to Hoffenheim.

With a tough match in France midweek and with resources already stretched very thin, it is a good time to oppose Jurgen Klopp's men.

Hoffenheim are capable at home and ran Bayern Munich close recently so they should be in a position to do likewise against Klopp's side. Bet365 go 5/4 (2.25) on a home win or draw, which offers plenty of value.

Arsenal to win at 5/6 (1.83) with bet365 Hoffenhiem (Double Chance) at (2.25) with bet365
