Real Valladolid-Rayo Vallecano Betting Preview: Why the hosts look great value for the win

Our man in Spain Phil Kitromilides believes Valladolid will be too strong for a much changed Rayo side when they meet on Friday evening
The Copa del Rey gets underway this weekend and for most of the country's top flight sides it is an unwelcome distraction.

Certainly neither Valladolid nor Rayo hold any hope of getting anywhere near the final, and as such expect both teams to field youthful, inexperienced sides as both managers focus on their battle to avoid relegation.

BetVictor price Rayo at 13/5 (3.60) but in truth they should be higher, with their away form poor and their tiny squad is already struggling with injuries.

The draw is offered at 5/2 (3.50) but instead, the price of 11/10 (2.10) for a Valladolid win looks extremely tempting.

Valladolid are likely to make changes to their starting line up as well yet possess more strength in depth than Rayo.

They also happen to comfortably beat Rayo 3-0 away a few weeks ago and look like a stronger outfit than their opponents in almost every aspect.

Rayo are continuing to concede goals and while Valladolid do not possess the most potent strike force in the division, both Javi Guerra and Manucho are well capable of causing an inexperienced Rayo defence plenty of problems.

Valladolid should be odds on here, so 11/10 (2.10) looks like a superb price for them to win Friday's clash.
