thumbnail Hello,

Games between these sides have produced plenty of goals over the past few years, and Al Hain-Cole expects another high-scoring encounter this weekend

Newcastle United will be hoping to record a fourth consecutive win when they welcome West Bromwich Albion to St James’ Park in Saturday’s late Premier League kick-off.

Alan Pardew’s men are currently enjoying their best run since winning six in a row towards the end of the 2011/12 season and are 21/20 (2.05) favourites with William Hill to move one victory closer to matching that streak.

The Baggies let a two-goal lead slip to draw the midlands derby against Aston Villa on Monday but are available at 5/1 (6.00) to bounce back from that disappointment with a win on Tyneside.

That result was the visitors’ sixth draw in their last 10 games and you can get odds of 12/5 (3.40) on them grinding out another stalemate in this one.

This match brings together the only two sides in the division currently in possession of a neutral goal difference, having both been just as unsteady at the back as they have been prolific in attack.

With this in mind, the stage is set for yet another high-scoring encounter between two sides that have provided plenty memorable games in recent years, with 49 goals scored in their 14 meetings since the start of the Premier League era.

In fact, considering Steve Clarke’s men have scored seven and conceded eight in their last four games, odds of 4/5 (1.80) look too good to miss on over 2.5 goals going in against a side who have scored twice in five of their last six on home turf.

That bet would have paid out in seven of Newcastle’s last nine and five of West Brom’s last eight Premier League fixtures, as well as each of the last nine games between these sides at St James’ Park.

The main man responsible for the hosts’ prolific recent form is Loic Remy, who has scored eight goals in his last eight league games for the club, including each of the three recent victories.

With Pardew’s men in high spirits after big wins over Tottenham and Chelsea, it is well worth backing the enhanced 3/1 (4.00) price on them coming out on top in a game featuring a Remy goal once again.
