BetVictor price them at 4/6 (1.67) for the drop. With Gus Poyet newly appointed, it's tough to back them for relegation at such a short price, despite their poor start.
One of the promoted teams from last season, Crystal Palace, are currently the favourites to go down at 1/8 (1.13) with BetVictor.
Ian Holloway's men haven't started well, picking up only three points from seven matches and sitting second bottom in the league.
This price is far too short to back, and although they were busy in the transfer window, it may well be that they haven't bought in enough quality players to keep them up.
With Sunderland and Palace odds on to go down, there is no stand out side to join them in the bottom three. BetVictor price five sides between 2/1 and 4/1 to be relegated with newly promoted Cardiff City and Hull City both in that category.
Hull City are currently 2/1 (3.00) to go down, a bet that seems to offer good value. Despite the strong start in the league, where Steve Bruce's men have won 11 points from their matches so far, their fixtures have been fairly straight forward, especially at home where sides look to win the majority of their points.
The Tigers have faced Norwich City, West Ham, Cardiff City and Aston Villa at the KC Stadium, where they have picked up eight of their 11 points.
Bruce's side have won away, beating an out of sorts Newcastle 3-2, but have struggled with their other two away matches, lossing 2-0 to Chelsea and Manchester City. With two tough fixtures coming up, away to Everton and Tottenham, this price may shorten slightly if they aren't able to pick up any points in those games.
