Anzhi Makhachkala - Tottenham Hotspur Betting Preview: North Londoners to ease to victory

Andre Villas-Boas' men travel to Russia this evening looking to continue their fine form in the Europa League this season and our tipster is backing Spurs to cruise home
Tottenham Hotspur face Anzhi Makhachkala in Group K in the Europa League, with Spurs trying to keep up their 100 per cent record in this year's competition.

Anzhi have been through a financial roller coaster over the last few seasons, with money being pumped into the side by billionaire Suleyman Kerimov in 2011 before having their budget drastically cut in August this year. With the likes of Yuri Zhirkov, Igor Denisov, Willian, Samuel Eto'o and Lassana Diarra being sold this summer as a result, Anzhi have struggled this season.

Spurs, meanwhile, come into this match after a thrilling 1-1 draw in the London derby against Chelsea at the weekend. Villas-Boas' side have been in fantastic form, winning eight of their 10 competitive matches this season, with their only loss coming away at Arsenal in the Premier League.

Tottenham have not struggled in Europe this season either, winning all their matches, scoring 11 goals in three games.

It comes as no surprise then that BetVictor price them at 1/2 (1.50) to take all three points even though they are away from home.

As well as having a number of player changes, Anzhi have been through their fair share of coaches this summer, with Guus Hiddink resigning before former Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen was sacked after only 16 days.

Gadzhi Gadzhiyev is now at the helm, but with Anzhi not winning any games this season and sitting bottom of the Russian league with only six points from 11 games, the future isn't looking bright.

BetVictor price them at 6/1 (7.00) to cause an upset tonight. The same firm price the draw at 10/3 (4.33).

With Villas-Boas rotating his squad in the Europa League this season, it has given Jermain Defoe a chance to get some game time and make his mark.

He has certainly taken his opportunity with both hands, scoring four goals in two matches in Europe. The price of him to net anytime is too good to miss at 11/10 (2.10) with BetVictor.

For those looking for more value, backing Spurs to win to nil at 29/20 (2.45) is a fantastic price. Tottenham have won eight matches this season, with this bet paying out in all eight of those.

When you consider Anzhi have failed to score in two of their last four matches, expect Spurs to have too much for them in Russia.
