Real Madrid - Copenhagen Betting Preview: Why the hosts should score at least twice in the first half

Our man in Madrid Phil Kitromilides believes los Blancos will find their scoring touch early on against the struggling Danes
After the crushing blow of losing their first Madrid derby for 14 years on Saturday night, Real Madrid will be relishing the visit of FC Copenhagen.

It is just the kind of game that los Blancos need, at home against an eminently-beatable opponent, and Coral price a Madrid win at 1/12 (1.08).

The Danes, meanwhile, who earned an unexpected draw at home to Juventus on matchday one, are offered at 22/1 (23.00). The draw is a lengthy 12/1 (13.0) chance with the same firm.

Those prices may seem extreme - even against Madrid - but Copenhagen are in all sorts of trouble domestically. The defending Danish champions are currently in the relegation zone having lost 3-2 to Brondby at the weekend.

So bad is the situation that they have already changed coach, just 10 games into the season, with Stale Solbakken replacing Ariel Jacobs. All this will play into Madrid's hands and while Carlo Ancelotti's side have not been at their best recently they should comfortably overcome the visitors.

Unbeaten at home in the champions league in over two years, Madrid are priced at 10/11 (1.91) to score over 1.5 goals in the first half and this is a solid option.

This bet has paid out in four of Madrid's last six home group games in the Champions League and Copenhagen are arguably the weakest opponents they have faced in recent years.
