Rayo Vallecano-Levante Betting Preview: Why a draw at half-time is a shrewd bet

Our Spanish expert believes a tight match in Vallecas will be level at the break and the price of evens offers punters a great chance to double their money
The two sides who have been on the receiving ends of the heaviest defeats of the Liga season so far meet in Vallecas on Friday as Rayo Vallecano face Levante.

The hosts' 5-0 thrashing by Atletico Madrid last weekend has only been eclipsed by Levante's 7-0 destruction on the opening weekend at Barcelona, making it fair to say that both teams could do with a decent performance as well as three points.

Rayo are offered at 11/10 (2.10) to claim their second win of the season, while Levante are available to triumph at 12/5 (3.40).

The visitors, for their part, are yet to score in the two games they have played so far and Levante look like they might struggle in front of goal this season.

Rayo, meanwhile, look like they might be punished by their own fans, who are planning to stay away until the 24th minute as a protest at the 23:00CET kick-off time.

In a quiet, partly empty stadium with two teams likely to struggle this year, a tight match looks probable, and backing a draw a half-time which is offered at evens (2.00) looks like a decent option.

For a value bet, try backing Draw half-time/Rayo full-time at 15/4 (4.75), with Rayo the more likely of the two to go on and win the game should the first half end as a stalemate.
