thumbnail Hello,

Luiz Felipe Scolari takes his side to Basel after a successful summer and Hugh Wilson is backing the South Americans to ease home

Brazil travel to Switzerland tonight after an unbelievable summer for Luiz Felipe Scolari’s men.

Brazil destroyed Spain in the Confederations Cup final back in June, laying down an impressive marker for when the World Cup takes place in Brazil next summer.

With two crucial World Cup qualifiers coming up in September, Switzerland couldn’t have asked for tougher opponents as they look to join the hosts next year.

Switzerland come into this match having ground out a 1-0 victory against Cyprus in their qualifying group, which sees them top Group E, four points ahead of Albania in second.

With fixtures against Norway and Iceland to come next month, Ottmar Hitzfeld will be keen to have his side ready with winning their group a real possibility. Coral price Hitzfeld’s men at 15/4 (4.75) to beat Brazil this evening.

This will be the first time Brazil will have played since their win over Spain, which capped off a fantastic tournament in front of their home crowd.

Scolari’s men dispatched of Japan, Mexico, Italy and Uruguay on their way to the final and their performances have warranted them as favourites for the World Cup next summer.

With a number of friendlies due to take place in the next few months, Brazil should be well prepared for the tournament. Coral price them at 4/6 (1.66) to win the match. The same firm price the draw at 11/4 (3.75).

A bet that stands out in this match is in the handicap market. Brazil have been tearing teams apart and the -1 bet at 7/4 (2.75) looks like a very appealing price.

Brazil have won their last six games, with five of those matches paying out on the -1 handicap bet. With a similar team that played in the Confederations Cup final likely to be named, expect the Brazilians to turn on the style against Switzerland.
