Our Spanish expert Phil Kitromilides believes investing in both teams to score in Wednesday night's friendly should be a profitable strategy
The game of course is tinged with tragedy coming a few short weeks after the desperately sad death of Ecuadorian striker Christian Benitez, and this friendly fixture is set to be played in his memory.
Emotions will be raw for the Ecuador players whom many referred to Benitez as a "brother" and they will no doubt give their utmost to continue their solid international form with a win.
Paddy Power who are live streaming what should be an interesting tie, price a victory for the hosts at 9/2 (5.50) while Spain who have won each of their last 10 friendly matches, can be backed at 8/13 (1.62).
Spain's motivation for the match, comes from a thankfully less devastating source than that of Ecuador, with Vicente Del Bosque's side keen to give a good account of themselves in the first match since their 3-0 humiliation at the hands of Brazil in the final of the Confederations Cup earlier in the summer.
The World Cup winning coach has elected to take a strong squad to Ecuador, although it is without the likes of Gerard Pique, Xabi Alonso, Xavi, Cesc Fabregas and Pedro.
That Spain should score seems in little doubt but Ecuador's recent scoring record is extremely impressive having netted in 11 of their last 12 matches, including against the likes of Argentina, Germany and Portugal.
The South Americans are generally in good form sitting third in their World Cup qualifying standings and almost assured of a place in next year's finals.
Therefore the price of 8/11 (1.73) for both teams to score looks highly appealing, and even more so when you consider it has paid out in seven of Ecuador's last nine games.
