thumbnail Hello,

The hosts go into the game in disarray after parting company with manager Kevin MacDonald just days ago, and Al Hain-Cole expects Spurs to show them no mercy

Tottenham kick off their pre-season campaign with a friendly against Swindon Town on Tuesday night, in a game you can follow play-by-play live on Goal.

Andre Villas-Boas’ men have returned to training without their only new signing Paulinho, and a familiar line-up are 4/11 (1.36) favourites with bet365 to get off to a winning start at the County Ground.

Friendly defeats to Banbury United and Forest Green Rovers proved the final straw for Kevin MacDonald, and the hosts are outsiders at 11/5 (6.50) to pull off a shock victory under caretaker boss Mark Cooper.

A draw would probably be welcomed as a win by the home fans, and you can get odds of 7/2 (4.50) on their side earning a share of the spoils.

The Robins seemed destined for a second consecutive promotion last season until manager Paolo Di Canio fell out with the board and handed in his resignation in February, a blow that they never really recovered from.

MacDonald was unable to continue the Italian’s good work and the side soon slipped out of the automatic promotion spots, settling in the end for a place in the play-offs where they came unstuck in the semi-finals.

With the malaise seemingly still apparent at the beginning of pre-season, the board were forced to part company with the former Aston Villa caretaker just days before this high profile exhibition match, which is hardly the ideal preparation.

Spurs, on the other hand, go into the game full of optimism after a serene couple of weeks back at the training ground, and will be boosted by the continued presence of their highly coveted star Gareth Bale.

All things considered, the Premier League outfit look nailed on to record a handsome victory, and odds of 10/11 (1.91) seem extremely generous on them winning after leading at half-time.
