Sevilla-Real Sociedad Betting Preview: Why the visitors should be backed to score in the first half

Our in-form Spanish expert Phil Kitromilides believes the Basques have a great chance of continuing their excellent recent scoring record in the first half
Sevilla's home form has been as good as any side challenging for a place in the Champions League this season.

Sadly for the Andalusians on the road, their record is comparable with a side battling relegation, with no team in the Spanish top flight having won fewer away games.

Fortunately then for Unai Emery, his team take on Real Sociedad on home turf looking for a 13th win at the Sanchez Pizjuan this season.

Coral price a victory for Sevilla at 11/10 (2.10) while la Real, who desperately need three points to keep up their push for the top four, are offered at 9/4 (3.25).

The side from San Sebastián have had no problems scoring, finding the back of the net in all but one of their last 19 games.

Sevilla meanwhile have netted in eight of their last nine home encounters, making both teams to score the natural bet. However the price of 4/9 (1.44) would appear prohibitively small, so looking elsewhere is necessary.

Backing the visitors to score 0.5 goals in the first half at 6/5 (2.20) looks to be a much better option and has a great chance of paying out.

The Basques have scored in the first half in seven of their last eight matches and in bustling Basque bruiser Imanol Agirrtexte they boast a striker in the form of his life. The price for them to net in the opening 45 minutes again looks too good to turn down despite Sevilla's excellent home record.

For a value bet, back Real Sociedad to win the first half at 14/5 (3.80) which if they score, they should have a decent chance of doing.
