JD's Betting Blog: Why ante post bets can be sound investments

JD explains how one of his members won over £6,000 on the ante post markets this season and has two weekend selections from the Premier League to share
Most of the silverware has now been handed out in Europe's top leagues. Juventus have been crowned Italian champions, Barcelona reign in Spain and Bayern Munich have swept all before them in Germany. Manchester United regained the Premier League trophy and Paris Saint-Germain won the title in France under Carlo Ancelotti.

Ante post bets can be a sound investment

The majority of these wins were entirely predictable and generally over a season you will find the best team wins the league. Ante post bets can be very profitable and if you plan things right, you can see significant pay outs. One of my own members got a pay out of over £6,000 from Bet365 on predicting all five teams to win their respective trophies.

Most punters think about August to May in terms of their own betting. The reality is that football is 12 months of the year, even during the summer break for most domestic leagues.

In June, the Confederations Cup takes place in Brazil and will be of huge interest to many. League programmes in Sweden, Norway, Ireland and many other countries will take place in June and July and I will be advising my own members of www.jdfootballbetting.com on them.

This weekend's tips

Looking forward to the weekend, it is the last day of the season in the Premier League. Swansea have impressed many this season an they can finish on a high by seeing off Fulham at 10/11 (1.91) with Paddy Power.

Fulham have shown signs of regression at the end of the season and have lost six out of their last seven matches. They appear to be a much easier team to play against now.  Swansea have been solid at home all season and have have impressed in recent matches against Wigan Athletic and Manchester United.

Managerless Manchester City can round off their campaign with a resounding victory over Norwich City. Norwich are safe from relegation and have only won once on the road this season.

They have accumulated only 10 points on their travels, the joint worst in the league and look very beatable for a team of City's quality. Manchester City to win both halves is a strong alternative to the prohibitive match betting odds on offer. The match odds don't appeal City winning both halves at 15/8 (2.88) with Paddy Power certainly does.
