Stoke City-Tottenham Betting Preview: Super Bale to strike again with goals expected at the Britannia

With Spurs having it all to play for, they travel to Staffordshire in what could be a tricky fixture, with our tipster backing away goals and a 4/1 value bet
With Stoke City drawing away at Sunderland in midweek, they all but secured their Premier League status for another season. Despite playing against 10 men, the Potters could not hold on to what would have been a vital win. This weekend they welcome a Tottenham side who are desperate for a win to break into the top four.

After drawing on Wednesday night, Spurs have now got to win their two remaining fixtures and rely on Arsenal or Chelsea to slip up. Despite Emmanuel Adebayor’s heroics, they drew 2-2 with their London rivals Chelsea.

Andre Villas-Boas' men come into this match with only one win in their last five away matches, drawing their last three. Coral price them as favourites at 5/6 (1.83) to come away with three points and keep their chances of a top-four finish alive.

Stoke will be glad they sit in 11th position, six points clear of Wigan Athletic in 18th. Unless there is a freak goal swing, the Potters will be playing top flight football next year.

Tony Pulis’s men have to chance to break into the top 10 with a win on Sunday though, and with Stoke unbeaten in their last three, they may fancy their chances against Spurs. The home side are 7/2 (4.50) with Coral to win this match. The same firm offer the draw at 12/5 (3.40).

A bet that stands out in this match is Tottenham to score over 1.5 goals in the match at 21/20 (2.05) with Coral.

Spurs have not struggled for goals this season away from home, with this bet paying out in six of their last seven away matches. Add into the equation that this would have paid out in two of Stoke’s last three home games, this is certainly worth backing.

For those looking for more value, Gareth Bale to score first at 4/1 (5.00) seems too good to miss. The Wales international has netted three in his last four, including breaking the deadlock in two of those games.

Bale has got history at the Britannia Stadium, bagging a double, including a wonder-goal back in 2010. With Spurs main man needed in their last two matches, expect him to step up to the plate once again.
