Rangers-Stirling Albion Betting Preview: Stuffy Stirling can make Rangers wait

Ally McCoist's side are on course to secure the Third Division title and Willie Duncan is backing the hosts to win again this weekend - but only after a tight first half at Ibrox
Rangers lead the Scottish Third Division by 20 points with just seven matches remaining, but the Gers will be keen to keep their title challenge firmly on track when they welcome lowly Stirling Albion to Ibrox on Saturday afternoon.

Ally McCoist’s men have won 11 of their 14 fixtures on home turf this season and are Coral’s red-hot 1/6 (1.17) favourites with Coral to claim a 12th home win of the campaign when they play host to the Binos.

Stirling Albion, though, have caused Rangers considerable embarrassment thus far this term, having taken four points from the Ibrox side in their two meetings at Forthbank and Greig McDonald’s side are available at a chunky 14/1 (15.0) with Coral to pick up another three points here by stunning the hosts, while the same firm go 6/1 (7.0) that the match ends in stalemate.

Lee McCulloch has netted 24 goals this term and will be keen to add to that tally when the Binos visit Glasgow. The skipper – who is Rangers’ penalty taker – looks to represent decent value at 3/1 (4.0) to break the deadlock. The veteran utility man is available at 8/11 (1.73) with Coral to score at any time and that looks to be a solid selection.

It is worth noting, though, that despite Rangers’ impressive record in the Third Division, McCoist’s men have led at half-time in only eight of their 14 home games this term so the 7/2 (4.50) quote from Coral for the match to be drawn at half-time with Rangers winning at full-time looks to be generous and should be snapped up by punters this weekend.
