Colombia-Bolivia Betting Preview: Back the hosts to continue their fine form and score in each half
With the home side boasting an embarrassment of attacking riches and the guests simply an embarrassing away record, Phil Kitromilides believes the hosts will score in each half
Colombia once more take to the field in the stifling heat of Barranquilla hoping that the Estadio Metropolitano will be to prove a fortress against Bolivia. The city is a sweaty humid place, and much like Bolivia feel they have an advantage playing in the lung-busting altitude of La Paz, so Barranquilla has proved to be a place where sides have found it difficult to win.
Indeed Colombia have won each of their last three home matches, all of which have been played in the coastal city, scoring nine goals in the process and conceding none. Against a Bolivian side who have one of the worst away records in international football, without a win on the road in six years, it is understandable to see Colombia priced as the massive favourites with William Hill offering them at 1/4 (1.25) for the victory.
An unlikely away win meanwhile can be backed at 14/1 (15.00) with the draw available at 4/1 (5.00).
Yet this should be about how many goals Colombia manage to put past their opponents and given the attacking options available to Jose Pekerman, goals for the home side looks likely. Everyone vaguely familiar with Spanish football is aware of the talents of Atletico Madrid's Radamel Falcao, while over at his former club Porto, Jackson Martinez and James Rodriguez have been in the kind of form which all but guarantees a big money move away from Portugal at some point.
Furthermore, Carlos Bacca has 22 goals in 25 goals for Club Brugges in Belgium, leaving Pekerman and punters alike feeling that his side should comfortably see off Bolivia.
Backing the hosts then to score in both halves at 4/5 (1.80) looks to be a wise selection with this bet having paid out in two of Colombia's last three home matches.
For a value bet back Colombia to score three goals, offered at 16/5 (4.20).
