Everton-Manchester City Betting Preview: Toffees to continue fantastic form against the champions

After a week off Premier League duties for both David Moyes and Roberto Mancini’s men, Hugh Wilson is backing the Toffees and has a 12/1 value bet on offer
Everton’s rare loss at home to Wigan in the FA Cup surprised many last weekend and they now host the Premier League champions who impressed with a 5-0 win over Barnsley.

Saturday’s early kick off will be much more of a test for Manchester City though, who realistically cannot afford to drop any more points if they want to have a slight chance of retaining the Premier league title.

Everton seem to like playing against City, only losing once out of their last seven meetings and winning the last three matches at Goodison Park. The Toffees are 12/5 (3.40) with Coral to carry on that impressive record at home.

Mancini’s men currently trail leaders Manchester United by 12 points. However, they have started to hit some form, winning their last four matches since losing to Southampton at the start of February.

Coral price them as favorites at 11/10 (2.10) to close the gap to nine points before Manchester United play later in the day. The same firm offer the draw at 12/5 (3.40).

Despite Everton’s FA Cup loss, Goodison Park has been a fortress for them this season, with Chelsea the only side to have won here in the league.

With Liverpool just above them on goal difference, but having played a game extra, Everton have the chance to go back above them, at least for a short time on Saturday. With Moyes’s fantastic record against City, it is hard to ignore Everton Draw No Bet at 13/8 (2.63) with Coral.

Looking at the both teams to score market, the odds of 4/6 (1.67) do not stand out as a price worth punting on. Although the facts would suggest backing, there are other bets out there to make more profit.

One of those is in the correct score market. Everton to win 2-1 at 12/1 (13.00) with Coral provides outstanding value.

The Toffees have won five of their home games in the league this season by one goal, and the last two meeting with City at home have seen them win by a goal. For those looking to back a price with a smaller stake but high returns, this could be the selection.
