Fulham-Stoke City Betting Preview: Back few goals between the Cottagers and the Potters
Both these sides have hit a bad run of form recently and David Wright is backing the two teams to play out a stalemate when the pair meet in Saturday's early kick-off
Martin Jol’s side have not enjoyed a good spell on home turf, having won only one of the last six matches at Craven Cottage, but are still the favourites for this clash at 23/20 (2.15) with Paddy Power.
If Fulham’s home streak is off-putting, punters may be reassured with Stoke’s less than impressive six losses in seven games away to Fulham. Therefore, despite beating Jol's men in November last year, it looks unlikely that the Potters will buck that trend with Tony Pulis' side priced at 13/5 (3.6) to claim a league double over their hosts on Saturday.
The visitors have only managed to score on eight occasions away from home this campaign, with their top goalscorers Jonathan Walters and Peter Crouch tied on five league goals apiece.
Couple that with the fact that six of the last seven meetings have produced under 2.5 goals, and it looks likely that the match will fail to break this boundary once again which can be backed at 4/6 (1.67).
Stoke have picked up six draws in their 13 away matches this season while the Cottagers were held to a stalemate last time out against Norwich. The draw looks a reasonable selection considering both teams will be happy to take anything out of this game to reach the magic 40-point mark as quickly as possible, and is available at a tempting 9/4 (3.25).
The hosts' leading scorer – Dimitar Berbatov with eight - has only found the back of the net once in his previous four league outings, but the Bulgarian could get back to scoring ways against Stoke, who have failed to keep a clean sheet in eight league matches.
And those looking to back the home team will find better value in Berbatov to score in a Fulham win at 11/4 (3.75).
