Inverness Caledonian Thistle-Kilmarnock Betting Preview: Visitors value to bag vital victory

Terry Butcher's men sit second in the Scottish Premier League but Willie Duncan is backing Kenny Shiels' side to bag all three points at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium

Despite suffering defeat at the hands of runaway Scottish Premier League leaders Celtic at the weekend, second-placed Inverness will look to extend their lead over the remainder of the chasing pack when they welcome Kilmarnock to Tulloch Caledonian Stadium on Wednesday night.

Terry Butcher’s men are without a win in their last four matches but, nevertheless, they can be backed at 10/11 (1.91) with Paddy Power to pick up all three points when they face Kenny Shiels’ side in the Highlands.

Killie, though, are sure to come into this match with confidence, having knocked Inverness out of the Scottish Cup less than two weeks ago and the Rugby Park side look to represent good value at 11/4 (3.75) with Paddy Power to claim victory here. The same firm go 13/5 (3.60) that the match ends in stalemate.

The home side's attack is likely to be led by in-form striker Billy McKay. The 24-year-old has bagged an impressive 21 goals in all competitions for Terry Butcher’s men this season and, with 17 of those goals coming in the Scottish Premier League, he is the league’s top scorer.

McKay is available at 4/1 (5.0) with Paddy Power to break the deadlock on Wednesday while the same firm offer an appealing even money (2.0) quote that the former Northampton Town striker scores at any time.

Kilmarnock must do without the services of top scorer Cillian Sheridan, who misses out through injury, but Paul Heffernan is set to deputise for the former Celtic and St Johnstone striker once again.

Heffernan scored both goals in Killie’s victory over Inverness in the Scottish Cup tie between the sides earlier this month and represents outstanding value at 13/2 (7.50) to score the opening goal of the game.
