Leicester City-Huddersfield Town Betting Preview: Expect the goals to come late in a tight FA Cup tie

Leicester City-Huddersfield Town Betting Preview: Expect the goals to come late in a tight FA Cup tie

Latest Chelsea-Sparta Prague Betting Preview: Expect plenty of goals at Stamford Bridge Previous

With attacking absentees on both sides, Al Hain-Cole cannot see too many goals going in tonight, and thinks that the crowd may need to remain patient to see some action

After playing out a 1-1 draw at the John Smith's Stadium two weeks ago, Huddersfield travel to Leicester for a televised FA Cup replay that you cannot help but feel both teams could do without.

The Foxes are embroiled in a highly competitive promotion race, and showed where their priorities lie when they rested several key players for the original tie, making five changes.

Nevertheless, having beaten the same opposition 6-1 at this ground just one month ago, the hosts are unsurprisingly 4/11 (1.36) favourites with Bet Victor to come out on top here.

The visitors have a fight for Championship survival on their hands, and with a lengthy injury list, a patched up side are expected to struggle once again at the King Power Stadium. They're priced at odds of 17/2 (9.50) to emerge victorious from this match.

Alternatively, you can get handy 4/1 (5.00) odds on the two sides playing out another stalemate and taking the game into extra-time.

Nigel Pearson has confirmed that Chris Wood will play no part in the game due to injury, and this will come as quite a relief to the opposition defenders considering the Kiwi striker struck twice in that 6-1 mauling last month.

However, caretaker manager Mark Lillis has a selection headache of his own, as James Vaughan is his only fit forward, with Lee Novak and his two Leicester loanees, Jermaine Beckford and Neil Danns all ruled out.

This lack of firepower at both ends suggests a low-scoring match is on the cards, and The Terriers will be hoping to display the impressive defensive resilience that earned them a precious 0-0 draw against runaway league leaders Cardiff.

A bet on under 2.5 goals to be scored would have paid out in three of Huddersfield’s last four (including the first match against Leicester), so odds of 11/8 (2.38) look like great value on that market paying dividends tonight, especially considering the circumstances.

With goals likely to come at a premium, attackers at both ends will have to remain patient, as they did in the original 1-1 draw, when both strikes came in the last 20 minutes.

With this in mind, 25/1 (26.00) looks like a tantalising price for the first goal to come between the 70th and 80th minute, or even from the last 10 minutes onwards and into extra-time.
