Watford-Crystal Palace Betting Preview: Hornets can be backed to sting the Eagles

Two promotion-chasing sides meet in the Championship when in-form Watford play host to Crystal Palace in what promises to be a hugely entertaining clash at Vicarage Road on Friday.Gianfranco Zola’s side have won four of their last five league matches and the Hornets can be backed at Bet365’s appealing even money (2.0) quote to make it five wins from six by claiming all three points against Palace here.
In contrast to Friday’s hosts, Crystal Palace are struggling for form, having won just three of their last 15 matches in all competitions.Ian Holloway’s men claimed a welcome victory over Charlton Athletic at the weekend and the Eagles can be backed at 13/5 (3.60) with Bet365 to claim back-to-back victories for the first time since November by defeating the Hornets while the same firm go 5/2 (3.50) that the match ends in a draw.
It is worth noting that Crystal Palace have scored an impressive 52 goals in 30 Championship matches this season – a figure which is only bettered by Friday’s opponents Watford, who have hit 58 goals in the same number of fixtures and, subsequently, the stage seems set for a goal-laden encounter here.
Despite these two sides topping the league’s scoring charts, Bet365 offer a tempting 4/5 (1.80) that three or more goals will be scored during Friday’s clash. Watford are the side in form, though, and the free-scoring Hornets certainly look to represent outstanding value at even money (2.0) with Bet365 to continue their charge towards the automatic promotion places by seeing off Ian Holloway’s out-of-sorts Eagles.
