AC Milan-Udinese Betting Preview: Backing Balotelli to inspire a goalfest on his debut
The striker's arrival at the San Siro gives Massimiliano Allegri an enviable arsenal of attacking firepower, and Al Hain-Cole expects an immediate influx of goals
Amid much excitement and fanfare, Mario Balotelli has finally completed his long-awaited move to AC Milan. The mercurial striker received a hero’s welcome upon arrival in his homeland, and should expect an even greater ovation from the San Siro crowd when he makes his debut against Udinese on Sunday.
The Rossoneri have won their last four consecutive Serie A games in their own backyard, and Coral are offering odds of 8/15 (1.53) on Balotelli starting his career at the club with a win.The visitors have only lost once in their last five fixtures, but are not expected to spoil the party by springing a shock victory, at odds of 5/1 (6.00).
Only Torino have drawn more games than the Zebrette in Serie A this season, and you can get odds of 3/1 (4.00) on them coming away with a valuable point here.
Balotelli’s move to the San Siro will see him link up with another exciting young Italian forward, in the form of Serie A’s second top scorer Stephan El Shaarawy.
The prospect of this partnership is enough to terrify opposition defenders, especially with the likes of Giampaolo Pazzini, Robinho and Kevin-Prince Boateng in support.
Massimiliano Allegri must be licking his lips at having such firepower at his disposal, with his already fairly prolific side set to become even more potent. At least three goals have been scored in five of Milan’s last six home games, so with the addition of extra attacking prowess, odds of 5/6 (1.83) look far too good to pass up on over 2.5 goals going in on Sunday.
The majority of these strikes have been reserved for the second half of the hosts’ games, as they seem to be reinvigorated after the break.
A bet on over 2.5 goals to be scored in the second half would have paid out in seven of the Rossoneri’s last 10 domestic matches, and with their increased threat from the bench an option late in the game, it is well worth backing that market in this game ,at odds of 7/2 (4.50).
