FA Cup Treble: Wins for Norwich and Leicester plus goals at Reading

FA Cup Treble: Wins for Norwich and Leicester plus goals at Reading

Latest Liverpool-Zenit St. Petersburg Betting Preview: Expect goals at both ends at Anfield Previous
By Al Hain-Cole
Jan 25, 2013 10:00:00 AM

While the neutrals will be hoping to see some giant killings this Saturday, Al Hain-Cole wants everything to go according to form so that his accumulator comes in at a handy 14/5

FA Cup Treble
Norwich City
VS
Luton Town
Kick-off: 15:00 GMT
Tip: Norwich City to win at 3/10 (1.30) with Coral

Non-league Luton’s lucrative clash against Premier League Norwich pits old friends Paul Buckle and Chris Hughton against each other in the dugouts, as the pair know each other well from their playing days at Brentford.

The Canaries boss is unlikely to underestimate his former team-mates’ side, and will want to use the match as an opportunity to get back to winning ways following some disappointing results.

After a six-game unbeaten streak at Carrow Road that included victories over Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham, Hughton’s men have now won just one of their last four at home, although recent defeats to Chelsea and Manchester City were by agonisingly slender margins.

They are likely to have more luck against a side that have gone five away games without a win in the Conference, and who have reached this stage on the back of three consecutive home ties at the intimidating Kenilworth Road.

With home advantage now in their favour, the Premier League outfit should have no trouble seeing off a team sitting 85 places below them in the English football ladder, and must be backed at odds of 3/10 (1.30) with Coral.

Reading
VS
Sheffield United
Kick off: 15:00 GMT
Tip: Both teams to score at 8/13 (1.62) with Coral

Reading have enjoyed an upturn in fortunes in recent games, winning each of the last three matches in all competitions.

However, The Royals have certainly not made life easy for themselves, having first gone behind in each of those games before mounting a comeback to snatch the win.

They may have to do the same against a Sheffield United side that have scored 11 goals in their last five away games, and who are usually good value for entertainment in this competition.

At least three goals have been scored in each of The Blades’ last eight FA Cup ties, and this record looks set to continue against a team that has managed just three clean sheets in 27 games this season.

With both clubs leaking goals at either end of the pitch recently, a bet on both teams to score looks very generous at 8/13 (1.62) odds.

Huddersfield Town
VS
Leicester City
Kick-off: 15:00 GMT
Leicester to win at 4/5 (1.80) with Coral

The match at the John Smith’s Stadium brings together two opponents in very different moods, as high-flying Leicester take on manager-less Huddersfield.

The Terriers’ 1-0 win away to Charlton in the last round merely papered over the cracks of a win-less streak that stretches back 12 matches in the league, and ultimately cost Simon Grayson his job this week.

Academy coaches Mark Lillis and Steve Eyre will take charge of Saturday’s clash, when they will attempt to overcome a side that defeated them 6-1 just three weeks ago.

The Foxes are on a five-match winning streak, and have hit the back of the net 14 times in that run with just one goal conceded, so will go into this encounter with bags of confidence.

All in all, Nigel Pearson’s men look like excellent value at 4/5 (1.80) to pick up their fifth consecutive win against their Yorkshire opponents.
