Guardiola 11/4 to win Champions League with Bayern Munich
The former Barcelona boss will take over at the Allianz Arena this summer and bet365 offer 11/4 that the 41-year-old guides his new club to European glory
Pep Guardiola looked destined to be the hottest managerial signature of the summer. He spoke of his desire to manage in the Premier League just days ago, a statement that surely pricked the ears of the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea.
But just hours later it was announced that the Spaniard will take over from Jupp Heynckes as the next Bayern Munich manager on a three-year deal, effective this summer.
Guardiola left Barcelona at the end of last season to take a sabbatical from football following a highly succesful period in charge of the Catalan giants which saw him claim three La Liga titles, two Copa Del Rey triumphs and be named La Liga coach of the year four consecutive times. The 41-year-old is 11/4 (3.75) with Bet365 to win the Champions League during his time with the German club and just 4/7 (1.67) to see out the three years at the Allianz Arena.
While the move may be a blow to the Premier League clubs that were chasing his signature, it also reinforces the Bundesliga's claims that its best teams can rival any of those from other European shores.
Heynckes led his side to the Champions League final last season where they lost on penalties to Chelsea. The 11/4 (3.75) on Guardiola going one step further with a team that can boast the likes of Mario Gomez, Philip Lahm, Manuel Neuer and Thomas Muller could prove good value, especially if the 4/7 (1.67) for Guardiola to stay for the full duration of his contract also pays out.
Guardiola led his Barcelona team to two Champions League titles in his time at Camp Nou and looks set to take over a side who will secure yet another Bundesliga title. Bayern are nine points ahead of their nearest rivals and 12 points in front of fellow Champions League hopefuls Borussia Dortmund.
The quote of 11/4 (3.75) is sure to be popular with those who believe Guardiola can replicate his success at Barcelona in his new role.
