Valencia - Sevilla Betting Preview: Why the home side should be backed to score two or more

Valencia - Sevilla Betting Preview: Why the home side should be backed to score two or more

Latest Barcelona-Real Madrid Betting Preview: Why backing Ronaldo to score offers serious value Previous

With the hosts prolific at Mestalla, and the Andalusians prone to conceding on their travels, our Spanish expert Phil Kitromilides is backing los Che to score over 1.5 goals

Saturday's late game in Spain is in theory one of the biggest of the season, as two of the country's most successful sides over the last decade meet at Mestalla with an in-form Valencia hosting a Sevilla side on the slide.

Indeed after a poor start Los Che have won six of their last seven matches in all competitions, a run which coincides with the arrival of Ernesto Valverde as coach following the sacking of Mauricio Pellegrino.

Sevilla, for their part, are said to be considering the position of their manager Michel, with the Andalusians languishing in 11th place having won just one of their last six league games.

That solitary victory came in uninspiring fashion late on at home to Osasuna last week, and Paddy Power price another win for the men from Seville at 11/4 (3.75). Valencia meanwhile who's recent home form, it must be said, has been patchier than a patchwork quilt are offered at evens (2.00) with the draw available at 12/5 (3.40).

Valencia's bewildering record at their own stadium has seen them lose two of their previous three home matches in La Liga to Real Sociedad and Rayo Vallecano respectively while they made hard work of beating Getafe 4-2 in their last match at Mestalla.

What they do however manage to almost always do is score, with the side failing to find the back of the net in only one of their last 18 league matches at home.

In fact Los Che have managed to score two or more goals in eight of the nine league matches they have played at home this season and a repeat is offered at an extremely tempting 10/11 (1.91).

If Valencia's home form makes this bet attractive then Sevilla's away form makes it almost unmissable with the side conceding at least two goals in each of their last six games away from the Sanchez Pizjuan.

For a value bet, try backing a 2-0 Valencia win at 17/2 (9.50), with this being one of Valencia's most common scorelines in their victories this season paying out five times already.
