Getafe - Atletico Madrid Betting Preview: Back a half-time stalemate between these two capital clubs
After two winners last night, our in-form Spanish experts Phil Kitromilides believes tonight's cup clash will be a tight affair and is backing a draw after the first 45 minutesTonight's capital derby clash in the Copa Del Rey is a tricky one to call given how the tie currently stands.
With Atletico Madrid leading 3-0 from the first leg, it is fair to suppose that Diego Simeone will choose to rest the majority of his first team players as he has been generally doing in the cup competitions so far this season.
Getafe meanwhile are without a win in their last five matches and are likely to prioritise this weekend's home league encounter with Granada over a seemingly lost cause in the cup.
Therefore this may well not be the greatest of spectacles for those watching yet that does not mean there is no profit to be made for punters.
Paddy Power price Getafe at 21/10 (3.10) to win, while Atleti are offered at 11/10 (2.10) and the draw available at 12/5 (3.40).
However, what looks to be the most appealing option for this game is the price of 11/10 (2.10) for the match to be a draw at half time.
For the reasons mentioned above neither side will be striving to go all out to win the match, Atleti because they do not need to, and Getafe because they almost certainly do not think they can progress.
Atletico's recent away form has been poor with the side losing three of their last four games away from the Vicente Calderon. Getafe meanwhile arguably put in their worst performance of the season in being utterly outclassed at Rayo Vallecano 3-1 on Monday night.
The signs therefore point to a close, tight game, short on chances and arguably quality. Backing a half-time draw looks a sound investment with the price offering a great opportunity to make some decent profit.
For a value bet, back Getafe to keep a clean sheet at 11/4 (3.75). Atleti, as discussed, have been uninspiring away from home and have failed to score in four of their last seven away games in all competitions.
In a match they do not have to win and fielding a weakened side, there is every chance that they will fail to find the back of the net again.
